Your 21-Day Freedom Plan – Part 3

Today we look at Part 3 (Day 15-21) of the Plan: From Powerful Action to Peaceful, Abundant Receiving
If you’re just joining the 21-day Freedom Plan discussion, find previous SSE News articles reprinted on my blog at www.andreaconway.com
To resume our story…Don was one of my Inner Circle members who just couldn’t break free of analyzing and re-analyzing his new business long enough to actually start it.
As we discovered in Part 1, what lay beneath Don’s analysis paralysis was his fear of making the wrong choice. Once he observed his fear and saw it was nothing more than a thought, he moved into possibility.
In Part 2, Don moved from possibility into the stillness that precedes powerful action. There          he could hear his soul’s inspiration and knew what actions to take.
However – knowing what actions to take is not the same as taking them!
Sometimes the idea of taking action re-triggers the fear. Don felt a strong inspiration to create a blog and several articles. He noticed that the idea of stepping out publicly on the Internet caused fear to kick in.
I could relate! In 2002 when launching the SSE website, I felt completely vulnerable and uncomfortable. Yet these last 7 years have been the most expansive and fulfilling of my life.
Make a note: it’s totally normal to experience fear whenever we step out of our comfort zone.
Scared? OK. Then what? Like Don you can learn to notice, observe, and decide to choose stillness. You can make a habit of listening to your soul in that stillness. And you can decide to take the powerful actions your soul calls you to.
Many spiritual entrepreneurs I talk to expect fear to disappear from their lives. “Won’t life be permanent playtime when I follow my soul?” Nope…
Not until you understand that fear is always going to return when you step into being bigger than you’ve ever been before.
Not until you decide that fear is simply a signal you are about to express more of your soul          potential. Wow. You might even decide to feel excited when fear shows up.
Fear is a sign that expansion possibilities are here.
The key when afraid is to consistently re-choose your connection to spirit. When you do, you find the spiritual courage to take powerful action. Then you experience peaceful, abundant receiving.
This week’s plan
1 – Continue to observe fear (or doubt, worry or other negative emotion) when it shows up. Step back and observe: notice you are separate from the fear thoughts your mind thinks. Observation is a new habit you are forming. After 21 days it becomes as second nature as brushing your teeth. If you practice!
2 – Continue to ask your soul (inner being, angels, higher self, Source energy — whatever term you use) to send you inspiration about any area of your life and business that you’d like help with.
As steps 1 and 2 become your lifelong habits, you naturally step into receiving inspiration.
3 -Commit to taking action on the inspiration you receive. Small actions count too: the main          thing is to act.
Stay aware (step 1) so that you don’t act from the vibration of “feel the fear and do it anyway” — LoA will then send you more fears to overcome. That is doing it the hard way!
Instead, keep reinforcing your connection to spirit (step 2) so that you act from the vibration of trust and inspiration.
4 – Let go of your expectations around results. You’re courting frustration when you act on inspiration with a certain result in mind. You may even feel like giving up if the specific result you want doesn’t show up.
If you’re in resistance (you can tell because you feel negative emotion), manifestation slows to a crawl.
Your work is to act from trust without expectation. You will receive in abundance. Your success is guaranteed. But not necessarily how and when you expect.
In creating or expanding a business (or any other heart-inspired endeavor), the universe looks for commitment.
Success comes to those who commit from the start. Even before they are successful in the eyes of the world.
Note, please: the  universe does not withhold success because it is mean or to “test” you.
Rather, the universe always gives us a loving opportunity to move past old beliefs.
The bigger our dream, the more old beliefs we may need to shed. Delays are simply indicators we have more old beliefs about success and money to clear out on our path of expansion.
Let’s choose to be at peace about the timing of success, instead of in frustration.
Guy Finley tells the story of a butterfly talking with a very wise old tree. The tree seems to completely understand the butterfly’s frustration with life –  stuck and unhappy. The butterfly is amazed by the old tree’s ability to empathize. Finally the tree explains the butterfly’s problem as kindly as it can: “You aren’t yet a butterfly. You are still a caterpillar.”
Sometimes we business owners expect to fly immediately. Let’s experiment with accepting that inching toward the goal might be enough for the moment.
5. Notice the abundance of whatever the universe sends you. Be at peace with it. Believe in          divine timing and do your best. There is no way a caterpillar can willfully transform into a butterfly. But in the course of living its most sincere life there will come a time of divine transformation.
Do you think your blessed human life is any less divinely led than the caterpillar’s? Trust that your desires to fly will be fulfilled.
Till next time, here’s to your successful self employment!

Today we look at Part 2 (Day 8-14) of the Plan: From Possibility to Powerful Action

If you’re just joining the 21-day Freedom Plan discussion, find previous SSE News articles posted on last week.

To resume our story…Don was one of my Inner Circle members who just couldn’t break free of analyzing and re-analyzing his new business long enough to actually start it.

As we discovered in Part 1, what lay beneath Don’s analysis paralysis was his fear of making the wrong choice.

As Don got into the habit of observing and writing about this fear (see Part 1 for instructions), he discovered that it was nothing more than a habitual thought pattern.

“What a surprise,” he told me. “Fear is only a thought I’ve been thinking. It has no reality other than that. And: I don’t have to think it!”

Don had entered the realm of possibility. It happens naturally once we discover that fear is simply a habit of thought.

Perhaps you’ve got an old pattern you feel stuck in. Maybe it seems that no matter what you try to do differently, you get the same old results.

Now I invite you to consider that the reason you get the same results is you haven’t yet moved from fear into possibility.

Like Don, you will know you’re in possibility when you no longer experience fear as some big, bad, overwhelmingly monstrous barrier.

Once you move into possibility you’re actually free to take powerful action. Continue Reading »

Your 21-Day Freedom Plan – Part 1

Article from Successful Self Employment News, subscribe

This freedom plan is for you if you’re thinking so much that you find yourself unable to take purposeful action.

I wrote about “the over-thinking it trap” in the last SSE News (reprinted on my blog at www.andreaconway.com ).

You met Don, my Inner Circle member who couldn’t break out of analyzing and re-analyzing his new business long enough to actually start it.

What kept Don over-thinking his options was a desire to be certain before taking action.

Underneath that desire? I’d call it a fear of making the “wrong decision.” Most of us have this fear, because most of us can point to a past decision we came to label “wrong.”

Today that fear of being wrong may still imprison us.

No worries – the path of self-employment was designed to set us free!

If you’re ready to release your fear so you can take definite, successful next steps to create or expand your business, here’s Your 21-Day Freedom Plan. This week: Part 1 – From Fear to Possibility.

Part 1 – Day 1-7: From fear to possibility

Next time you notice your mind going in circles about the same old problem or decision, stop and ask: what is it I’m trying to avoid?

Julie & Julia & Law of Attraction

Finally got to “Julie & Julia.” Enchanting! But I’m not writing a movie review. Just a Law of Attraction in business comment.

Both Julia Child and Julie Powell worked on projects essential to their hearts. Both started out hesitant, shy. Both experienced increasing confidence as they moved forward — yet they were far from feeling certain about attaining success. Each went through disappointments and rejections.

Still, each persevered. In the end, success came in astonishing abundance – providing fulfillment, opportunity and lavish income.

The LoA message? It’s not just that loving your business wins (though it does). It’s not just that perseverance is required (though it is).

Here’s what I invite you to consider. If you KNEW your success was assured, could you start to enjoy the journey right now? The best reason to own a business you have passion for is to create a life you have passion for.

Julie & Julia reminded me to stop waiting until some goal is achieved but to savor life (and butter) now.

To your happiness and success,
Andrea

The Over-Thinking It Trap

Article from Successful Self Employment News, subscribe

Don has a brilliant mind and loves to keep it thinking.

One of my Inner Circle members, he recently booked a private coaching session to strategize the marketing of a new online business for freelance writers (he’s freelanced for years).

Not five minutes into our conversation, Don was heavily into explaining arcane keyword research tips he’d picked up at a workshop, tossing around terms like long-tail and bid management software and content network…

When he paused for breath, I asked him to help me out by backing up for a minute to answer a few questions.

Did he have his blog or website launched? Well, not yet.

Did he know what his keywords were? Some, maybe, but he needed to do more research.

What exactly was he going to sell? Well he had several options about that and hadn’t quite made up his mind.

I suggested that it was time to stop analyzing and take action on the basics of creating an online business.

And that step one would be to determine an initial set of keywords and launch a simple website or blog that could begin to build him a prospect list.

This straightforward suggestion silenced Don. After a moment he told me he didn’t think he was ready.

When I asked what would ready feel like, he said: “I would be certain about what I’m doing.”

That desire to have certainty before taking action is what keeps most of us trapped in over-thinking. The hours, days, months and years go by, and at best our business crawls forward.

At worst we have no business.
