Few things feel better in business than having a consistent surplus of money.

But if you don’t have a surplus right now, or even enough, it’s unwise to make your vibrational focus “If I only had more money, everything would be great.”

Here are 3 reasons why more money isn’t The Big Answer.

#1 – “If I only had more money” makes your entire existence about money. Money becomes the big excuse for why you aren’t living the life of your dreams.

Once you make lack of money your excuse, there goes your power. In your mind, you’re no longer in charge, money is. Since money is just an effect, giving it your power gets you nowhere.

Lack of money shows you there is something for you to investigate. Instead of stewing in worry, get curious about what’s really going on.

What are some of the causes behind a lack of money in your business? Here are some common ones:

You may need to become clearer about the market you serve. You may be offering mediocre products and services. You may be thinking too small about marketing or sales. You may not have the right help.

Cash is only a temporary fix unless you deal with the underlying problem.

#2 – “If only I had more money” leaves you feeling needy; from neediness you can’t attract abundance.

It may be truer to say: “I’d like more clarity about my business direction.” Or “I’ve decided to stop letting my employees take advantage of me.” Or “I’m asking for inspiration about how to expand my customer base.”  

Any of these statements acknowledge that your thoughts and actions are what really attract money to your business. If you sincerely examine your situation, spirit always sends you ideas.

Work on the real cause (you!) not on the effects.  

#3 – “If only I had more money” leaves you a match to lacking money. 

Thus the Law of Attraction continues to send circumstances in which you still lack money. If you’re thinking: “That’s so unfair!!” I don’t blame you. But I respectfully disagree.  

The Law of Attraction is a 100% impartial, automatic feedback system.

Though you can’t change it by wishing it would give you what you’re not a match to (“just this once”), you can do something better: shift your own thinking and actions to become a match to what you want.

Next time you find yourself wishing for more money, stop and ask: what do I really want that would allow more money to show up?
